Specification: card retrieval

CSM allows PDF cards or lists of cards to be retrieved according to logical combinations of restrictions. This facility can either be used stand-alone or else as part of a search-match job. In the latter case, only those materials matching the current set of restrictions are considered as candidates in the search-match process.

The card retrieval is fully integrated with the card display and powder simulation tools, so that the full PDF card and a full trace powder pattern for any PDF card may be displayed in a couple of mouse clicks.

Restrictions

Restrictions may be applied in the following categories, and may also be logically combined.

Examples

Find all star-quality cubic compounds containing zinc but not oxygen, whose lattice parameter is 5 Angstroms +/-10% and whose density is greater than 5 g cm-3.

There are four such cards: 15-746, 45-1289, 45-1300 and 45-1302.

Find all compounds containing only the elements C, H and O whose space group is P 21.

There is only one such card: 70-1367.
